Day 2

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Drop a link to your post in the comments. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.

So, in the spirit of the challenge, I'm going to rec three kinds of things that don't really seem to get recced much in this fandom, at least that I've seen - a short-ish one-shot fic, a fanmix, and fanart.

1. The Box, by kalaryx (Transformers Animated, Lockdown). Pretty short fic, about 1100 words, and it's, like, a perfect character study of Lockdown. It's tightly structured but with this easy, conversational writing that gives the impression of stream of thought, and it suggests a much more expansive story than what's on the page, and does it well in a way that character studies like these sometimes fail to. And, again, I think she nailed Lockdown's character. I don't really know what else to say about it.

2. Two for the Money, a Lockdown/Prowl fanmix compiled by wolfalice. I don't know if the download link is still active, but the track listing is in the post. Some of the tracks are things I wouldn't have listened to on my own, but IDK, I thought they came together well and the fanmix as a whole worked for the pairing. I could hear both characters in it. And that's something, because it hasn't been the case with a lot of fanmixes I've listened to. (Also, the Divide and Kreate Metallica mash-up? is amazing).

I wish fanmixes were more of a thing in Transformers fandom. I've only found maybe... three or four?

3. Dirty Desires, a six-page Megatron/Hound fancomic by MamonnA (*warning for non-con). I don't know if she plans on ever having it colored or anything, but I love it the way it is right now. Her art is always beautiful, I love the starkness of it in black and white, and the way she draws the characters is expressive enough to tell the story without any dialogue.

--

I could have recced a huge pile of things, there are so many amazing fanworks that I love in this fandom, but I don't have all day to spend on this, so.
